Casablanca Dip Mix
Our Casablanca dip mix includes spices used in Moroccan cooking from ancient times, but used in a whole new way for a lovely sweet, spicy taste.
Like many Moroccan flavor combinations with cinnamon, cumin and cayenne, our Casablanca Dip Mix works particularly well in combination with meat and fruit. Mixed just with apple butter, you have an incredible dipping sauce for chunks of cooked pork (pictured), or a lovely glaze for roasted chicken or pork loin (pictured). Serve with grilled pork loin as an appetizer for your July 4th party. It's easy, delicious and original.
This is even great for just dipping potato chips or pretzels! And for those who like all things spicy, it's delicious any way you would usually use apple butter!
MORE ON HOW TO SERVE THIS MIX:
Sandwich Spread: For an easy, sophisticated canapé, put slices of warm or cold pork loin on baguette slices and dollop with the apple butter mixture for Casablanca Pork Canapés (pictured). Serve extra sauce on the side. This will be a stand out dish at any July 4th party.
Cheese Ball or Spread: This flavor combination works well with cheese too. It’s easy to make into Casablanca Chicken Cheese Spread (pictured); just combine the dip mix with cream cheese, apple butter and shredded rotisserie chicken. Reduce the apple butter, increase the cream cheese and add chicken for Casablanca Chicken Cheese Ball (pictured). Complete directions are on the label. This is a delicious, innovative flavor profile, just the way to set your July 4th party apart.
Substitute 8 oz of shredded cheddar cheese for one of the cream cheese packages to kick these options up a notch.
Add minced dried fruit like apricots or dates to the cheese ball or spread for a more traditional Moroccan flavor profile
Add a nice crunch and even more layers of flavor by serving the cheese ball, spread and chunks of pork loin with the Roasted Sweet Onion flavored Brown Rice baked with Sweet Potato Trisket® crackers.
This flavor profile is complimented by seasonal ales, fruity red wines and hard apple cider.
Apple Butter Replacement: Pumpkin butter and peach butter are also delicious in place of apple butter.
OTHER GREAT WAYS TO USE THIS MIX:
Spiced Ketchup: Just combine our Casablanca Dip Mix with 2 cups of Heinz® ketchup and you have a totally unique flavor for Casablanca Glazed Meatballs (pictured) or cocktail sauce for Casablanca Shrimp (pictured). Use it any of the ways you ordinarily use ketchup, like for dipping fries.
