Pier I

Pier 1 has a wide assortment of Christmas and winter serving platters.  The Holiday lamas on the left ceramic platter are new this year.  The Christmas Village pattern has two serving pieces, the ironstone platter and bowl.  The Snowman Family platter is hand painted.

The glass platters at Pier 1 are just stunning.  The snowman and toy soldier platters are both fun and beautiful.  The snowflake platter has hand painted silver snowflakes on a clear glass platter.

The Santa dip bowl, Christmas tree cheese board & knife and Christmas lights dip bowls literally dress your table for Christmas.

Find the and more serveware in Pier 1 stores or online at P1 SERVE.

Christmas Tree Shops and & That Stores

These holiday tidbit plates are adorable and definitely dress up any holiday party table.

Crate & Barrel

Smiling snowmen grace Crate & Barrel’s holiday platter, which is part of a collection (middle picture) including the tray, appetizer plates, bowls in 3 sizes, mugs, napkins and even a milk bottle.   The cheese tools with Christmas tree, snow man and red stocking handles are just adorable.

Christmas light wine charms and flatware stockings will brighten any Christmas party table.  Find these items and more serveware in Crate & Barrel stores or online at CB SERVE.

Swoozie’s

Swoozie’s was born out of a time-deprived mother’s need to avoid driving ten places in order to organize a simple birthday party.  The first Swoosie’s store opened in the Buckhead area of Atlanta in 2001.  About half the space was devoted to invitations and stationery, with the other half devoted to gifts, many of which can be personalized.  The gift area of the store is theme based and changes seasonally, except for  birthday parties and weddings.  There are now ten stores, mostly in the Southeast, and a major online presence.  As you’ll see, their products range from very traditional to innovative, with emphasis on humor.

The Santa serving platter on the lift is one of many that can be customized.  The tartan plaid deer platter and Santa sleigh napkins are unlike any we’ve found elsewhere.

The Very Merry cheese set and Fa La La dip bowl and spreader are perfect for Christmas entertaining.

Every store seems to carry Christmas napkins, but most lack Swoozie’s panache and sense of humor.  They are a bit more expensive than other stores, but if you’re looking for unique, this is the place.

Find these items and much more serveware at Swoosie’s stores or online at SW SERVE.

Oriental Trading Company

The 3 tier Buffalo plaid ceramic server works with many traditional and contemporary dish patterns.  Plates are 12” x 6-1/4”.  The stocking, star and tree dishes are intended to be candy dishes, but at 2’ deep and about 5”-6” wide, they’re also very nice for snacks, dips or veggie dippers.  They’re sold as a set.  See these and other serveware items online at OTC SERVE.

Pottery Barn

The serving platter and bowl on the left are the Nostalgic Santa pattern.  Next is the Nostalgic Tree serving bowl .  On the far right  are three platters from the Silly Stag collection.

The two stoneware serving platters are 17” x 10”.  The platter on the left is Landon plaid, and on the right Denver plaid.  The 3 tier server is only available in Denver plaid.  These both work well with a number of Potter Barn dinnerware collections.

These serving bowls and platter made of hand-fired porcelain and are from the Santa’s Reindeer collection.  The collection and this serveware feature all eight reindeer in whimsical poses.

Find these serving platters, bowls and more in Pottery Barn stores or online at PB SERVE.

eBay

This year eBay has the best selection of Christmas cheese spreaders.  Some are new, but most have been gently used.  Some are virtually unique while others can be found among multiple sellers.  We’ve tried to pick the most interesting and enough variety to give you an idea of the extent of your options.  We even found one we couldn’t live without (bet you’ll know it when you see it).

The first group of spreaders features typical holiday icon handles with glossy finishes, but only two Christmas trees.  The second group is exclusively Christmas trees, again with emphasis on gold and silver on different trees in two of the boxes, and shiny green trees with stars (all alike) in the middle box.  While these can be used in any holiday setting, they are the ones that will fit best in less casual settings.

In this group all the boxes have only one style of spreader.  The top group has toy solders, Santas and angels (pretty hard to find).  The bottom group has more Santas, gingerbread people and snowmen.

The spreaders in this group are mixed sets and very unusual.  On the left are lighthouse Christmas spreaders, and on the right, dramatic tree topper spreaders.

Very few spreaders are sold with holders.  These two were the most interesting we found.

See these and many other Christmas spreaders online at EB SPREADERS.

Party City

Appetizer picks are handy for keeping fingers clean, and they can reinforce party themes.  The snowmen and holly sprig picks shown can also be used for cupcakes.

Find these picks and more in Party City Stores and online at PC SERVE.
