Pier 1

The slate serving board with hemp handles in the top row on the left is from Cathy’s Concepts. It’s 15.75” x 12”. It’s nice for cheese and fruit, or canapés like stuffed celery or chicken salad in tortilla “scoops” or phyllo shells. The skeleton holding the iron platter (10.5” x 11” x 10” can be used in the same ways. The skeletons pattern I the middle row includes a 9” x 4.5” serving bowl, a 14” x 7” platter and a set of salad plates. On the left in the bottom row is a stoneware serving bowl (6.75” x 8”). In the center is a dolomite coffin and skull chip/dip set (tray is 16” x 9.5”, bowl is 3.75” high). On the right is a set of skull spreaders. Christmastree Shops and & That! Stores
Christmas Tree Shops operates over 70 locations, including a few named “& That.” The stores are mostly in the northeast or southeast including 20 states. They have a broad selection of home decor and entertaining items, at amazingly low prices. Most items are sold individually. They no longer sell on their website as they’re concentrating on sharing new ideas instead. We like them so much that we’ are still including them in this section. They’re definitely worth a visit, however you do it.

On the left above is a mini 3” tidbit plate with the cat looking appropriately scary. On the right is a ceramic 8” x 6.5” cauldron reading “Witch’s Brew.” Two other cauldrons are also available, one with a purple interior and the same saying, and a cauldron with green interior saying “Magic Potion.” These are great for chips.

Above are three glass serving platters. The top left platter is 12” square and the rectangular platter on the right is 16” x 6”. The third platter is on the bottom right, and it is 15” x 10”. The serving bowl on the bottom left is 10.75” square and holds about 32 oz. (1 quart). With this assortment of platter sizes and the bowl, you’re covered whether you’re serving lots of appetizers or a regular meal.

While some stores may not have all patterns, find these serveware and dinnerware items in Christmastree Shops and & That! Stores, and “window shop” on line at CTS HSERVE.

Crate & Barrel

The table runner on the left above is cotton with metallic embroidery and 90” x 14”. The salad plate in the center is porcelain and the skull serving bowl is stoneware with metallic glaze and holds about 24 oz. On the right, the large stoneware cauldron is 9.25” x 7” high, and the small one is 5.5” x 3.5”. They could be used for chips and dip or salad bowls. Find these items and more in Crate & Barrel stores or online at CB HSERVE.
Karen’s Glass Design
Karen Perez is the artist behind Karen’s Glass Design, her shop on Esty.com. She’s been painting glass for about 15 years. She was inspired to begin when she saw a pitcher she loved, but couldn’t afford. She is one of the few painted glass artists that includes coffee cups, sugar, creamer and butter dishes in addition to wine and other glasses.

The picture on the right above includes a butter dish, sugar and creamer, and salt and pepper shakers. On the right are votive holders, which could easily be used for condiments or dips. Most orders ship in 1-2 days and are usually shipped priority mail. See these other Halloween bat themed painted glass at Karen’s online studio KGD HSERVE.
Swoozie’s
Swoozies opened their first store in Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia in 2001. Half of the store features invitations & stationery and half is devoted to gifts, many of them being personalized. The gift area of the store is theme based, changing with the seasons. The folks at Swoozie’s are passionate about many things, including recognizing and celebrating life’s occasions. There are now ten Swoozie’s stores, mostly in the Southern states, most recently in the Denver area, and swoozies.com. They have treatments for party supplies seen nowhere else, and their sense of humor is readily apparent in all their product categories.

Ebay.com

eBay definitely has Halloween spreaders! Whether you want witches, black cats, bats, Drac, ghosts or Jack-O-Lanterns, they have it. They even have a few spreader and bowl sets, like you see in the bottom row. This is such a fun time of year, and shopping for Halloween serveware like the spreaders is one of the most fun parts of getting ready to celebrate it. See these Halloween spreaders and more online at EB HSPREADERS.
Etsy.com
Etsy provide “storefronts” for over 2 million sellers, most of whom are selling unique, custom, vintage or handcrafted items. We feature some of those store owners in the Where To Find It pages, but here we have chosen to search Etsy looking for fall spreaders, and we found some good ones.

These are spreaders we liked but hadn’t seen elsewhere. They are vintage, but gently used. Find these Halloween spreaders and more at ET HSPREADERS.
Pick On Us
This company that’s been around for over 30 years specializes in “eco-friendly tableware & presentation solutions for those who want to present their cuisine with functional elegance.” While they primarily serve the luxury hospitality sector, they also sell online in quantities small and affordable enough that anyone hosting a party can likely take advantage of their offering. They sell mostly products made of bamboo, which is actually re-harvested and grows back after each cutting. Bamboo has too many other features that make it amazingly eco-friendly to list here, but if you’d like to know more, you can find that info at WHY BAMBOO IS BETTER. They also offer a number of items made of palm leaf. All those products are made from fallen leaves and water.
You can find bamboo picks almost everywhere that picks are sold, but most are fairly limited to paddle or knotted bamboo shapes. Pick On Us has those, and more.

On the left above are bit stick skull picks. They are 5” picks and are sold in 100 count packs for $9.45. On the right are multi-colored 5” skull picks on normal sticks. 100 count packs sell for $7.00. Find these Halloween picks and other picks online at POU HPICKS.

Although most of their products are actually picks, they also offer amazing tableware. The bamboo tasting cones in the top row on the left are sold in 7”, 5” and 3.5” sizes. They’re more versatile than they look here; with a stand they hold sauced dishes too. Although they aren’t positioned as disposable, at only $6.00 to $7.00 for 50 count packs, they are effectively disposable. On the right are disposable bamboo tasting cups. They’re 2.5” diameter and sell for $8.00 for 50 could packs.

No party is complete with out dessert, and both the disposable bamboo cups on the let and sugarcane tasting spoons on the right are perfect for tasting sized desserts. The cups are the same ones shown above, 2.5” diameter. The tasting spoons are 4” x 2” and packs of 30 sell for $10.00.
You can see this and more innovative serveware online at POU HSERVE.
Party City

Party City is well known for its thousands of disposable party supplies and costume items, but not so well known for it’s ceramic serveware and drinkware. The plates in the top row are both ceramic. The rectangular platter on the left is 16” x 5.5” and on the right the oval platter is 10.75” diameter. At $12.98 each, they are actually less expensive than the few Halloween platters available elsewhere.
The platters in the middle row are plastic, but don’t look like the cheap plastic serveware we are used to. The round plater is 14” diameter, and there’s also a 10” x 4” bowl in the same pattern. On the right is a 20.35” x 14” serving tray. The bottom row features appetizer picks.
The skull picks on the left are in packs of 36. Both are priced at $1.99 each. These may not be available in your stores (they are not in our stores), but can be ordered online for in-store pickup. Party City seems to have a flat $7.95 shipping charge per order for in-store pickup, so if there are other items that can only be bought this way, it makes sense to combine all those items into one order.
