Our Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Mix, made with Ghiradelli® chocolate and the rich flavor of hazelnuts, is so smooth it melts in your mouth, evoking the favorite Italian Nutella® spread flavors. But since it’s summer, use the mix to get the same flavors in Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream or freeze prepared mousse and serve stuffed between double chocolate cookies for Chocolate Hazelnut “Ice Cream” Sandwiches (pictured).  Your summer party guests will just love them either way.  See RECIPES for directions for Ice Cream and Ice Cream Sandwiches

Made as directed, our mousse is not firm enough to cut into slices.  Chocolate Hazelnut Rocky Road Mousse Pie is pictured.  It was frozen and thawed about 10 minutes after cutting before being served.  This is sometimes called a “freezer pie” or “no-bake cheesecake.”  Whatever you call it, it makes a wonderful summer dessert for casual entertaining or a pot luck dessert.  It’s also amazingly easy for as complex as it looks when it’s sliced.  See DESSERT RECIPES for directions.

For Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream Pie, prepare ice cream per recipe, adding the mix-ins at the soft serve stage.  Freeze covered at least 4 hours.  No need to thaw this before serving.

OTHER GREAT WAYS TO USE THIS MOUSSE:

Cannoli Filling:  This mousse makes a great cannoli filling (pictured with chocolate sprinkles for garnish.)  Save time by using ready-to-fill cannoli shells.

More Filling Ideas:  Innovative flavor for the filling for a Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Cake, Chocolate Hazelnut Cream Puffs (great for buffets), or Chocolate Hazelnut Crepes (yummy for brunch).

TIP:  See the READY MADE page for where to purchase ready-to-use cream puff or cannoli shells and crepés.

Elegant Presentation:  Mound in wine or martini glass topped with whipped cream (pictured).  Serve with champagne.  It’s a beautiful finish for your elegant dinner party.

Fun Dip or Topping:  Top with sprinkles and use as Chocolate Hazelnut dip for French toast sticks.  It’s delicious and fun!  Quick and easy as a topping for Chocolate Hazelnut waffle bites (pictured) - both are perfect for brunch buffets or your casual summer party.

Pairing or Flavor Theme:  Serve topped with whipped cream and with a glass of chocolate wine or Frangelica® to carry out the hazelnut theme.  Add a chocolate ball on a tooth pick and serve in a martini glass for a Chocolate Hazelnut Martini (pictured).  All great ways to finish dinner.

Note:  Make with reduced fat cream cheese and Lite Cool Whip® for light and fluffy mousse texture
