All American flavor fusion from the NE & SW, the sweetness is from maple and heat from chipotle chilis.  Shown made with mayo and sour cream.  The sweet, smoky, spicy flavor is even better with the salty taste of chips, and amazing with fries, especially sweet potato fries.  Together they provide the perfect flavor profile that works so well with seasonal ales.  It’s pictured with potato chips alongside several summer ales for a beer tasting party.

Vegetarian Dips:  Season any mashed vegetable and turn it into a summer vegetarian dip. Serve mashed yam dip with potato chips, other veggie chips, or flavored baked pita chips.  It’s a remarkable vegetarian appetizer.  Also pictured is Rio Grande Refried Black Bean Dip.  So good only your vegetarian friends will realize it’s vegetarian.  TIP:  For a "no/low sodium" pita dipper, bake your own (slice pita chips, coat lightly with cooking spray, sprinkle with granulated garlic); bake about 10 minutes at 350°.

Veggie Sides:  This flavor fusion is great for seasoning vegetables, and particularly good with mashed yams or sweet potatoes.  Sprinkle mix on veggies before cooking.  Roasted Rio Grande Yams (pictured) are a great change up for any meal. Grilled sweet potatoes or yams are a real summer treat with this seasoning.

Rub for Meat, Chicken & Fish:  Brush oil on meat.  Sprinkle mix liberally and massage in if desired.  Roast, bake, grill, fry or sauté as usual.   Grilled Rio Grande Pork Loin is a popular summer main dish for dinner parties.  These flavors also nicely compliment baked or grilled salmon.

Glaze for Meat & Chicken:  The prepared dip forms a delicate glaze as it heats.  For baking, spread dip on top of meat and bake as usual.  For grilling, turn meat only once; spread dip on top of meat for last few minutes of grilling.  Summer guests will love the flavors.

Spicy Ketchup for Adults:  Combine mix with 2 cups of ketchup.   Use Rio Grande Spicy Ketchup just like you would regular ketchup or BBQ sauce.  Take frozen appetizers and snacks to a whole new level with this lively Spicy Ketchup dipping sauce.  Also great with sweet potato fries (pictured), popcorn shrimp, chicken fingers, chicken fries and most anything fried.  Use for updated burgers at summer cookouts.

Meat Glaze:  Add a bit of beer or wine to thin the prepared ketchup to use as a glaze for Rio Grande Glazed Meatballs (pictured).  Make a lot for your party, these are real guy favorites!

Cocktail Sauce:  Add a bit of lime juice to the prepared ketchup for use as cocktail sauce for shrimp.  The southwestern flavor profile really brings out the sweetness of the shrimp.  Rio Grande Shrimp Cocktail bites pictured.  This could easily become the signature dish for all your summer parties.

Once you've tasted this kicked up ketchup, it will be your “go to” sauce for summer entertaining.

Vinaigrette Seasoning:  It's just amazing as seasoning for vinaigrette or salad dressings (pictured as vinaigrette dressing for pasta salad).   This makes a nice summer dinner salad or side dish for a buffet.  See RECIPES for vinaigrette directions.

Marinade & Dipping Sauce:  Use the vinaigrette as a marinade or dipping sauce.  It’s used both ways in Rio Grande Shrimp & Melon Canapés (pictured).  This appetizer is as delicious as any you’ll fine in a 5 star restaurant, but surprisingly quick and easy.   See APPETIZER RECIPES for complete directions.  This spicy marinade is also awesome for grilled fresh veggies.  Slice veggies 1/4” thick and marinate for a few minutes.  Then grill as usual, until they are light brown and tender.  Use as a side dish or appetizer, either is perfect for any summer dinner.

Soup Base:  This dip mix makes an amazing base for soups.  Pictured made with beef, green beans, corn and sweet potatoes. Save time by using left over pot roast or canned beef.  See SOUP RECIPES for Rio Grande Beef Soup directions.
