This is the perfect salsa for garlic lovers.  Its roots are Mexican, but it really jazzes up many other tomato based dishes too.  Zingy, but not really hot.

Roasted Garlic Salsa Mix is our most traditional and popular salsa mix.  This one offers a medium kick, and works best with tomatoes (fresh or canned).  Great with tortilla chips (pictured with guacamole tortilla chips) and any Mexican beer, seasonal ales or wine.   With our mix, you get fresh salsa you make yourself.  It's quick and easy too - you just add our mix to chopped tomatoes (and a chopped onion if desired) and you’re ready for summer party guests.

How to control the heat:

You generally like things pretty spicy:   Start by using about 3/4 of the tomatoes called for and add about 3/4 of the salsa mix.  This is how the salsa is designed to taste.  If it not spicy enough, add the rest of the salsa mix a bit at a time and taste.  If you eventually use all the mix, the salsa will be about 33% spicier than where you started.

You don’t like things very spicy:  Start by using all the tomatoes and about half the salsa mix.  This results in a very mild salsa, and you may not be able to really taste the rest of the seasonings.  Add salsa mix a little at a time, tasting each time until you get to the heat level you like.  Discard remaining mix.  If you eventually use all the mix, the salsa will taste like it was designed to, zingy, buy not hot (unless you eat 3-4 bites in quick succession; then most any salsa will seem spicier than when you started).

OTHER GREAT WAYS TO USE THIS SALSA FOR EASY ENTERTAINING:

Salsa Dip or Dressing:  Mix prepared salsa with cream cheese for zingy Roasted Garlic Salsa Dip (pictured) or your favorite ranch dressing for Roasted Garlic Salsa Ranch Dressing.  Drain most of juice from salsa before mixing into cream cheese or prepared dressing. TIP:  We recommend Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix® made with low fat mayo and non-fat buttermilk.  Or just drain salsa and pour over a block of cream cheese for the quickest possible summer appetizer.  In all cases, the results will taste less spicy than the salsa alone.

Italian Inspired:  Very nice as a spicy topping for Roasted Garlic Bruschetta (also pictured) and a nicely spicy sauce for pasta or Mexican lasagna.  Any would be well received in your summer party buffet, and all will taste less spicy than the salsa alone.
