Almost like a trip to the Caribbean, our Tortuga Bay Salsa Mix is designed to take fruit to the next level. It combines the tastes of traditional jerk seasoning with rum and mint flavors. In the fall and winter, when cranberries are in season, we often use fresh cranberries and green onions with orange marmalade and orange juice or orange liquor (pictured). It makes a wonderful relish served with pork or turkey, too. Tortuga Bay Pineapple Salsa: We make this salsa most often with canned pineapple, red peppers and green onions because it tastes great and is really quick to make. Sometimes we add mango because it tempers the pineapple’s sweetness a bit. It’s delicious both ways served with tortilla chips for salty, sweet, hot, and cooling flavor layers! Your guests will love this Caribbean appetizer.
Cracker Spread: Both Tortuga Bay Pineapple and Cranberry Salsas are beautiful poured over a brick of cream cheese and served with crackers (pictured with pineapple). This is a great Christmas appetizer made with cranberry salsa.
Relish: Both Tortuga Bay Cranberry Relish (pictured) and Tortuga Bay Pineapple Relish are amazing with Roast Pork Loin. They are also perfect with grilled pork loin or chicken. This is a great way to reinvent the meat served at holiday dinner parties.
With Mixed Fruit: In the summer when fresh fruits are less expensive, we often go to a fruit mix, like a mix of mango, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, but virtually any fruit combination works, so use your favorites! The Caribbean heat and flavors are beautifully complimented by cool fruit, surprising but delicious in a fruit salad. For a mixed fruit salsa, we add red peppers and green onions and serve it either with tortilla chips (pictured) or as a relish for grilled chicken, pork or fish.
