The spiciness of wasabi and the freshness of lemon together are just scrumptious.  This mix is zippy, but won't take your breath away.  This dip is delicious just with chips, you’ll be amazed at what it does with fresh veggies and it’s unbelievable as a dipping sauce for sausage (all three dippers pictured).

Serve with seasonal ale or a semi-dry white wine like Riesling to balance the wasabi heat.  It’s a lovely and original fall appetizer.

TIP:  If you like the Wasabi Lemon flavor but find the dip too spicy once it’s made, add mayonnaise and sour cream in equal proportions until it reaches a spice level that’s comfortable.  If you have tried the dip already and know it will be too spicy, start with 1 cup each mayonnaise and sour cream, but use only half the mix and taste.  Add mix a little at a time until the dip is at the spice level you want.  Flavors intensify somewhat as the dip sets, so it’s a good idea to taste again after about an hour of chilling and make corrections if needed (add more mayo & sour cream).

MORE DETAILS ON HOW TO SERVE THIS DIP FOR EASY ENTERTAINING:

Sausage Dipping Sauce:  This is such an unusual idea that it deserves a bit more information.  Serve it as a dipping sauce for sausages like bratwurst or kielbasa.  You’ll never want mustard for dipping sausages again once you’ve tasted Wasabi Lemon Sausage Bites.  Grill sausages and cut into bite size pieces or pan sear pieces until browned.  Use kielbasa, bratwurst or your favorite combination of sausages.  These are guy favorite fall appetizers.

Instead of Tartar Sauce:  Use it in place of tartar sauce with fish.  It’s pictured with a poached salmon appetizer (makes an elegant statement about your fall party) and also with a dinner featuring baked salmon.

Hummus Wasabi Lemon Hummus updates chick pea hummus with its flavor fusion.  The hummus pictured is made with mashed Edamame (soy beans), which takes hummus to a whole new level (higher in protein and lower in carbs than chickpeas).  It’s great with fresh veggies (pictured), pita chip dippers, or falafel chips (pictured).  There’s just no other fall party appetizer like this Asian & Mediterranean fusion of foods and flavors.  See APPETIZER RECIPES for directions.

It's delicious however it's used and there's just nothing else like it!
