The spiciness of wasabi and the freshness of lemon together are just scrumptious.  This mix is zippy, but won't take your breath away.

It’s unbelievable as a dipping sauce for sausages like bratwurst or kielbasa.  You’ll never want mustard for dipping sausages again once you’ve tasted Wasabi Lemon Sausage Bites (pictured as an appetizer to be served at backyard parties and for serving indoors).  Grill sausages and cut into bite size pieces or pan sear pieces until browned.  Use kielbasa, bratwurst or your favorite combination of sausages.  These are guy favorite appetizers.

Summertime is grilling time, so next time include sausages for the adults, and offer Wasabi Lemon dip instead of mustard (sandwich pictured served with potato chips, watermelon slice and summer ale).  This combination just screams great summer party.

Serve with seasonal ale or a semi-dry white wine like Riesling to balance the wasabi heat.  It’s a lovely and original appetizer.

TIP:  If you like the Wasabi Lemon flavor but find the dip too spicy once it’s made, add mayonnaise and sour cream in equal proportions until it reaches a spice level that’s comfortable.  If you have tried the dip already and know it will be too spicy, start with 1 cup each mayonnaise and sour cream, but use only half the mix and taste.  Add mix a little at a time until the dip is at the spice level you want.  Flavors intensify somewhat as the dip sets, so it’s a good idea to taste again after about an hour of chilling and make corrections if needed (add more mayo & sour cream).

Chip and veggie dip:  It’s delicious just with chips, and you’ll be amazed at what it does with fresh veggies.  It’s pictured with both.

Instead of Tartar Sauce:  Use it in place of tartar sauce with fish.  It’s pictured with a poached salmon appetizer (makes an elegant statement about your summer party) and also with a dinner featuring baked or grilled salmon.

Hummus:  Wasabi Lemon Hummus updates chick pea hummus with its flavor fusion.  The hummus pictured is made with mashed Edamame (soy beans), which takes hummus to a whole new level (higher in protein and lower in carbs than chickpeas).  It’s great with fresh veggies (pictured), pita chip dippers, or falafel chips (pictured).  There’s just no other summer appetizer like this Asian & Mediterranean fusion of foods and flavors.  See APPETIZER RECIPES for directions.

It's delicious however it's used and there's just nothing else like it!
